I just purchased a new Tacoma from Gale Toyota. What a positive experience. And I say that in all seriousness.
Bob was my salesman. After working with three other dealerships to try to find my perfect truck (I had pretty specific build requests), I called up Gale about a truck they had allocated for them. Yaritza answered the phone. She was super informative. She passed the phone to Bob. He took my deposit. I drove down there and “negotiated” a deal.
I put “negotiation” in quotes because Bob’s initial deal was far better than I could have asked for. He got me the lowest price I had seen for the Tacoma, and gave me a VERY fair trade in for my car.
When it came time to purchasing and plate transfer, Bob called me on a Thursday to remind me what paperwork to bring and to talk me through the insurance transfer process, then I spent ONE HOUR getting my new truck. It was just that easy.
I felt bad. I had been so suspicious of dealerships after my last experiences at other places that I asked about a thousand questions. I was so suspicious. The entire staff was calm, patient, and (actually) kind. Every question I asked was answered clearly and transparently.
When it came time to finance, Chelsea was excellent. She informed me of all financing options as well as all coverage packages, but in no way made me feel like she was trying to up-sell me. She took her time to find me a rate that worked for me, was patient going through the paperwork, and made me feel as though my concerns and questions were all listened to.
I hope to never have to buy another vehicle because I love my new truck. But if I do, I’m going right down to Bob at Gale Toyota.
Oh yeah - I drove two and a half hours each way to get there (from the Boston area). It was worth every minute.
