It was Pink everywhere!
Great weather, a fantastic setting, and a tremendous cause were on display at Blue Back Square in West Hartford, CT on Wednesday, October 7th between 5 to 8 pm. Hundreds of survivors and supporters attended the 4th annual Pink Party in partnership with Komen Connecticut to promote awareness for breast cancer.
The Pink Party is a “party with a purpose.” Originally scheduled for October 1st but postponed due to weather, the party was designed to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness month in style! And it certainly was successful in doing that. The event filled the streets of Blue Back Square where guests could dance and listen to live music, as well as enjoy entertainment and activities designed for everyone. Local food vendors who turned out to support the cause offered samples of delicious food. Prizes were raffled off and swag bags were also available for purchase, stuffed with donated items ranging from gift cards, cosmetics, tasty treats and other amazing goodies featuring the dominant color of the day.
Local breast cancer survivors participated in a survivor fashion show hitting the pink runway and modeling the latest fashions from nearby retailers as well as the latest in hair and make-up styles also provided by local Connecticut stylist vendors. West Hartford firefighters wore their dress blues with pink bowties and escorted the models down the pink runway to rousing applause from family members, friends, and supporters.
FOX CT broadcasted live from the Pink Party and Amanda Raus interviewed Gale Toyota's Sales Manager Dominic Dibella who explained the importance of this cause and why Gale Toyota was a major sponsor of the event. Breast cancer has touched our entire family including our workforce and customers at our dealership. Gale Toyota provided a 2016 Scion iA and a 2016 Scion iM, both wrapped in breast awareness pink, and party goers were able to sign a spot of choice on the vehicles. It didn't take long for both vehicles to be covered with signatures, messages, hopes, and achievements. Both vehicles are now on the showroom floor of Gale Toyota at 50 Palomba Drive in Enfield, CT. Please stop by to see these touching displays throughout October and Breast Cancer Awareness month.
In addition to being a leading sponsor of the Pink Party, Gale Toyota will also be a platinum sponsor for the upcoming Western Massachusetts Rays of Hope Walk to be held on Sunday, October 25th in Springfield, MA.
Rays of Hope is part of Baystate Health Breast Network and cares for the whole person from diagnosis and beyond by supporting research at the Rays of Hope center for Breast Cancer Research. We hope you will participate in this year's Rays of Hope Walk and visit our tent. For more information, you can visit our website at www.galetoyota.com.
