The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross extends the relevance of the most popular model ever built

Performance Specs for the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross

More Toyota Corolla models have been sold in the last 40-plus years than any other model in the global automotive industry. Toyota has made the rather easy decision to take everything the Corolla name stands for, affordability, reliability and efficiency, and drop those elements into the 21st century’s most popular vehicle class. The performance specs for the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross will quickly show Gale Toyota customers what the future of the model might look like. When the 2022 Corolla Cross goes on sale later this year (or early next year), it will share a lot of DNA with the existing Corolla sedan platform but will also be available with all-wheel-drive. Let’s take a closer look at a few things you might want to know.

What is under the hood of the 2022 Corolla Cross?

Toyota has all but perfected the compact sedan, which also includes the powertrain. The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross will use the same naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine found in previously produced Corolla models. Like those other Corolla cousins, the Corolla Cross will employ a continuously variable transmission, making 169 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, 2022 Corolla Cross models coming to the Gale Toyota showroom will be equipped with front or all-wheel-drive, depending on what the customer chooses to take home.

2022 Toyota Corolla Cross Fuel Economy

Because the 2022 Corolla Cross is using a familiar powertrain, the all-new crossover SUV platform will record familiar and just as impressive fuel economy scores. Versions of the new Toyota crossover SUV with front-wheel-drive will post 31 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. Customers choosing a 2022 Corolla Cross with all-wheel-drive will see 29 miles per gallon in the city and 32 miles per gallon on the highway.
